David Banner is a rap and hip-hop musician and a producer from Mississippi. David loves his home state of Mississippi and is very proud of his roots. He has also expanded his talents into that of track master, helping T.I. and Nelly with the sounds of their songs. He also produced Thug Holiday for Trick Daddy. David released an album in 2007 entitled Greatest Story Ever Told. David's prior album, Certified, was released in September 2005. One single from Greatest Story Ever Told, "9mm/Speaker," was released in 2007 and received a ranking of No. 66 on the R&B charts. The single, "9mm/Speaker," also featured Lil Wayne, Snoop Dog, and Akon. Another single from the 2007 album, "Get Like Me," is scheduled for release soon. "Get Like Me" includes Chris Brown, Jim Jones, & Yung Joc, along with David Banner. Three singles from David's Certified album were released in 2005. They were "Ain't Got Nothing" with Lil Boosie and Magic, "Play," and "Touching" with Jazze Pha. The 2005 single, "Play," received the best status on the charts, reaching No. 7 on the U.S. Hot 100 chart, No. 5 on the U.S. R&B chart, and No. 3 on the U.S. rap chart. In 2006, David made "Seein' Thangs" that was released on DJ Shadow's, The Outsider. That track discussed issues related to the Hurricane Katrina tragedies. David also created the main theme of the game, Saints Row. In November 2006, David received a Visionary Award from the National Black Caucus of the State Legislature of Mississippi for his work and efforts after Hurricane Katrina. David Banner is executive producer of the cartoon show, That Crook'd Sipp. The show premiered in May 2007. The background music for the promo of the show featured his single, "Play." David Banner, born Levell Crump, in Jackson, Mississippi, in 1973, also dabbles in acting and philanthropy. David took his stage name from the main character in a 1980's CBS television show called The Incredible Hulk.
